Wool Oriental Floral Handmade Pastel Blue/Green Rug, circa 1940 11'8" X 12'7"
This is an stunning, exceptional finely-hand-woven Persian Kirman (Kerman) rug, containing intriguing floral motifs in pastel shades of teal green, cream, salmon pink, green, with hints of dark royal blues. It is made of such fine wool that upon touching the pile with your hands, it feels like silk. Rug still has its original ticket when it was purchased from an antique store "A.R.N." valued at $28,900 in new condition containing number: 022214 This oriental carpet has been professionally cleaned and appraised at "Merchants of Asia" Rug professionals located in Green Brook, New Jersey. Appraisal report is provided in listing picture which places the Kirman rug at $7,500. However, due to age and usage this rug has some imperfections. On the front, some minor stains are barely visible. On the back, evidence of its age is depicted in all stains including some padding remmants bits. The fringes has been worn down to about half its original size over the years. While most of the rug is in great condition, some slight wear, hardly visible to the eye, (unless you are very close) is found on the wool pile. Thickness pile is about 1/2 inches. As a reference a dime was placed on the rug's edge. Please see pictures. This oriental Kirman rug comes from a pet and smoke free home.
