Vintage V'Soske Hooked Tufted Long Gallery Rug 54x204 inches 138x518 cm Excellen
This listing is for an Exceptional Vintage V'Soske Hooked Tufted Long Gallery Rug measuring about 54 inches widest by 204 inches or 138 cm by 518 cm. It Weighs about 58 lbs. net. I am not sure of exact age or designer of this rug. My best Guess is that its designer is Stanislov V'soske and age-wise it is from Mid Century. Wool Pile on a cotton canvas reinforced with some kind of glue on back. Brown Field and a yellow/gold and beige / white Arabesque style border. It has been soak washed multiple times, last on 8/23/19 , by a textile conservator and it literally looks perfect with very minimal reinforcements on back. The turned canvas edge shows stains and soiling on back as shown. My hat off to the Textile conservator that has washed this rug . Truly museum quality work. A Grand Rug. Rare as it gets and exceptional as can one expect. The closeup images are the best representation of the rug. Good strong colors . Images might show sheen which does not belong. If you know the designer or have more specific information about this rug , please let me know. It will be shipped two folded end to end face to face and then rolled so that face of the rug comes in minimal contact with material on back. .
