Stunning Antique Heriz Handmade Masterpiece C.1920 Gorgeous Natural Dyes 6x4’9
Origin: Heriz Circa: 1920 Size: 6x4’9 Hand knotted in wool, this carpet was made in the town of Heriz located. Heriz carpet structure consists of a single cotton warp and double cotton weft using Turkish knots. The rust/brown field is decorated with a medallion surrounded by simple angular vines and spandrels with a samovar border. The pile is left long. The bold design is handsomely adorned with many geometric devices, yet the field is not crowded. The medium low pile of this rug is very consistent with its age. There is one small area of restoration at one end performed by masterful weaver from Heriz area.
