Origin: Malayer Size: 16‘ x 5.5 Circa: 1910 This stunning museum grade antique Malayer carpet possesses an impossibly fine weave coming in an extremely odd size meant for long corridors or entryways. The condition is very good with evenly low pile and some areas of age consistent wear. The main design panel features a brilliant herati design fantastically framed by a turquoise main border flanked by a magenta and ivory guard border on either side. Every color in this piece is derived from natural vegetable dyes with different batches of wool aging differently over time creating remarkable abrash affects. Both sides and ends are original.
