Size: 8x3'7 Circa: 1900 This very attractive and finely woven Caucasian demonstrates its authentic origin through its meticulous craftsmanship and uniquely charming design. It depicts five hexagonal medallions framed by an interlock border and two flowery guard borders. Throughout the design there are multiple indications of Akstafa influence, most notably four peacocks beautifully woven in the middle as well as geometric motifs generously scattered throughout. It is a piece with unmatched charm as its authentic origin and superb craftsmanship exemplify its extraordinary rarity. This piece is woven onto a wool foundation with a wool pile. All dyes are organic and all sides and ends are original. It is evenly worn throughout with no restorations.
