Antique Lenkoran Caucasian Runner, ca. 1875; 3' 10" x 8' 6" // 117 x 259 cm Madder red ground with 4 1/2 "guls" possibly derived from Turkmen antecedents. Guls in medium blue, teal, and mint green, each inhabited by a quartered diamond containing 8-pointd stars. Main border on ivory-white with calyx-leaf and flower-head motifs. Sawtooth and red-whited dotted minor borders. Light wear commensurate with age; otherwise in reasonably good condition largely retaining its original multicolored selvedge wrap and braided kilim ends Please see photos
